On May 17, 2021, Henrico County unveiled two historical markers at Wilton Farm. The plaques tell the story of the land’s silenced majority – enslaved workers who labored in the farm’s wheat and tobacco fields many centuries ago. The 1200-acre plot was also an integral part of the lives of early Native Americans.
The county purchased Wilton Farm in 2019. The bulk of the land, which includes two large lakes and nearly three miles of river frontage, will be preserved for recreational use.
