The number of automobile crashes involving pedestrians and bicyclists in Henrico County has jumped sharply in recent years. In 2018, the county recorded 92 crashes involving pedestrians, with nine fatalities, and 31 crashes involving bicyclists, with one fatality. In 2019, Henrico has already had seven fatal crashes involving pedestrians and two fatal crashes involving bicyclists.
Henrico, with the Police Division and the Division of Fire, are launching the Watch Your Step! campaign to promote safety on the county’s roads. By looking out for each other, avoiding distractions and taking simple precautions, we can make our roads safer for everyone.
