Demo is underway at Virginia Center Commons. Crews are razing the former Sears building to make room for Henrico County’s new indoor sports facility and convocation center
The facility will feature more than 115,000 square feet of adaptable event space with room for up to 12 regulation NCAA basketball courts or 24 volleyball courts and a 4,500-seat arena with stadium seating.
Officials believe the center will boost Henrico’s sports tourism program by adding a much-needed, high-profile venue for indoor sports tournaments.
