HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — A staff member at Varina High School in Henrico was injured while trying to break up a fight between students.
Police say School Resource Officers responded to the scene of the fight, and identified one adult with minor injuries. Although medics were called to the scene, the staff member has not been transported to the hospital at this time.
School officials said the school was placed on “lock and teach” as a precaution, and that instruction was continuing through the afternoon.
They could not confirm whether any arrests were made as a result of the incident, but said that “appropriate disciplinary actions” were being taken.
