HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Henrico County Police Department is investigating a shooting off of Laburnum Avenue that took the life of one person Saturday evening.
Police said they received a 911 call about a shooting in the 4500 block of S. Laburnum Avenue right before 5:30 p.m. The shooting took place at the White Oak Village shopping center.
The department said two people were shot — one person died at the scene and the other was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Henrico Police said the deceased victim is a girl under the age of 18 — because of her age, her identity is being withheld but her aunt told 8News her name was Jamirah. The victim who was hospitalized is only being identified as a male.
