Mechanicsville is definitely one of the best places to live in Richmond. It is located just a little northeast of downtown Richmond VA and it is a top suburb of Richmond. While it isn’t as commercially developed as some other suburbs of Richmond, it has everything you need very close by and it is very easy to commute back and forth because Mechanicsville has very easy highway access.
The first of our top neighborhood picks is Rutland. Rutland is a neighborhood with both townhomes and single family homes. It’s location is amenity rich as it is right by the Chamberlayne & Atlee road bubble. There is a YMCA located within the neighborhood too. The HOA also provides a clubhouse and pool. It is a really great neighborhood for families and an awesome spot for a walk or bike ride.
Up next is The Bluffs at Bell Creek which is very similar to Rutland. Driving along Bell Creek road there is a Food Lion shopping center very close to the neighborhood and it also has local restaurants, a gym, and even a pediatric urgent care center. Highway access is very close by, so it is a really good location. There are townhomes, single family homes, and even age restricted 55+ patio homes within the neighborhood so it literally has something for everyone.
We also mention Giles Farm which is a brand new community still being developed. There will be a huge clubhouse, pool, two fishing ponds, walking trails and more! If you want more information about this neighborhood just reach out to us!
Last we go over our top favorite neighborhood in Mechanicsville, Kings Charter. The beautiful nature setting is what made us fall in love with this neighborhood. The HOA is very social and active with tons of get togethers planned throughout the year. There are 2 pools, 2 kiddie pools, multiple lighted tennis courts, and even a scenic lake! We love the tree lined streets and sidewalks. Kings Charter is huge with over 470 acres and almost 900 homes in the neighborhood.
