An 18-year-old Varina High School student has been charged with malicious wounding after a fight at Varina High School left a staff member injured.
Just before noon May 5, Henrico Police were called to the school after reports of ongoing disorderly situations among students. During the incident, the administrator was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The student – Taylor Nicholas Goodman, 18, of Henrico – faces the malicious wounding charge as a result of the incident.
Police and school system officials continue to urge students and the public to report behavior that may disrupt school instruction.
