CULPEPER (WINA) – Republicans in a number of districts are going to the polls today to vote in primaries — including the 7th District where locally voters can go to the polls in all of Culpeper, Orange, and Louisa counties. 6 Republicans are on the ballot in the 7th District primary, wanting to run against 2-term incumbent Democrat Abigail Spanberger.
They are: Spotyslvania native, lawyer, and former Army “Green Beret” Derrick Anderson; housewife and history teacher Gina Ciarcia of Dumfries; Spotsylvania state senator and lawyer Bryce Reeves; software developer, Spotsylvania supervisor, and former Marine aviator David Ross; Stafford supervisors and small business owner Crystal Vanuch; and Prince William supervisors and auxiliary sheriff’s deputy Yesli Vega.
Anderson, Reeves, Vanuch, and Vega have been the top fundraisers in the primary campaign.
Besides the 3 local counties, the 7th also includes all of Goochland, Amelia, Nottoway, and Powhatan counties — as well as parts of Chesterfield, Henrico, and a large part of Spotsylvania county.
