NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster men’s lacrosse team lost, 22-5, at home against Grove City in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup Saturday afternoon.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to bounce back on Wednesday,” said head coach Travis Brown.
Westminster (10-4, 5-2 PAC) was able to get on the board in the second quarter after first-year Gavin Jones (Henrico, VA / Douglas S. Freeman) scored the first of his two goals he had on the day. However, Grove City (13-4, 7-0 PAC) maintained its lead for the remainder of the game.
The Titans were led by Jones who tallied a team-best three points with a pair of goals and one assist. Junior Hamish Mathwin (Marion, Australia / Westminster) registered a goal and an assist.
Westminster earned the three-seed for the PAC Tournament and will compete at two-seeded Saint Vincent Wednesday, May 4 in the PAC Semifinals. Start time is 5 p.m.
