Henry “Jocko” Eugene Clay, Jr., 38, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Wilmington, NC.
Henry was born in Halifax County on December 10, 1984, to Henry Eugene Clay, Sr. and Rebecca Starke Clay. He was preceded in death by his son, Jaxson Ryder Clay and his mother Brittany LaBonte.
Henry had a heart of gold, and would give you the shirt off his back. He liked to fish, was a good cook and loved to eat. He was also a good artist.
Henry is survived by his daughter, Jocklynn Jade Clay; his parents, Gene Clay and Becky Clay both of Roanoke Rapids; his paternal grandfather, Clifford L. Clay of Henrico, NC; his brother, Patrick Hammack of Roanoke Rapids; his aunts and uncles, Brenda Hobbs, Kathy Byrum, Dennis Starke (Shirley), Cynthia Rowland and Kim Johnston and her husband James and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2023, from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
