Henrico high schools compete on new turf

When Highland Springs visited Hermitage on Friday, Aug. 24 to kick off the 2018 high school football season, it marked the first game to be played on Henrico’s newly installed synthetic turf fields. The fields, which are durable for year-round use, have been added at Hermitage, Freeman and Varina and are planned at the county’s six other high schools. Voters approved funding for the fields through the 2016 bond referendum.
