Freeman HS Christens Synthetic Turf Field

The new synthetic turf field at Douglas S. Freeman High School saw its first game action Friday, Sept. 7, when the Rebels hosted Lee-Davis High School. Henrico’s new fields are durable and allow for year-round use. They have been installed at Hermitage, Freeman and Varina high schools and are planned at the county’s six other high schools. Voters approved funding for the fields through the 2016 bond referendum.
