Syracuse, N.Y. – Darrick Jones Jr.‘s putback dunk during the men’s basketball team’s 75-66 road victory at Pace on Tuesday is the Le Moyne College Play of the Week, presented by McNeil & Co., for January 30.
With just over nine minutes remaining in the first half of Tuesday’s Northeast-10 Conference battle between the Dolphins and the Setters, sophomore guard Zy’Ever Wingfield (Richmond, Va./Henrico/Fork Union Military Academy) took a jump shot from behind the free-throw line. The shot rattled out, but Le Moyne junior guard Darrick Jones Jr. (Richmond, Va./Oak Hill Academy/Towson) jumped over a Pace player to grab the offensive rebound, then he slammed home the putback dunk with two hands to extend Le Moyne’s lead to 21-10.
The Dolphins will be back in action on Wednesday, February 1, when they host Adelphi University for a 7:30 p.m. matchup on Ted Grant Court.
