“Attack Transport: Remembering the USS Henrico” is an hour-long documentary produced by the staff of HCTV. First aired Nov. 11, 2004 in honor of Veterans Day, the documentary covers the many tours made by the USS Henrico over a 25-year period that extended from the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II through the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War. With a stunning mix of archival footage, still photos and contemporary interviews, the program gives viewers a visceral sense of wartime battle and the often-harrowing conditions that existed on the ship. Since its initial airing on HCTV, the documentary has been picked up by six PBS affiliates and broadcast to 10 million viewers.
