Amazon announced recently that it is expanding the career advancement opportunities it offers its hourly employees by partnering with more than 140 national and local universities to provide fully-funded college tuition. In the Richmond area, employees will have access to an education from Reynolds Community College, Virginia Commonwealth University, and John Tyler Community College.
The new partnerships are part of Career Choice, an Amazon upskilling program designed to help frontline employees advance their careers. Career Choice offers fully-funded college tuition and allows employees to participate every year they work at Amazon. Employees, who are eligible after 90 days of employment, can pursue a bachelor’s degree, earn industry certifications and build skills through English language proficiency and high school completion programs.
