Recent Finds

Here are some very cool idea’s I’ve read about lately:
- From Tom at BionicTeaching, using Google Trends to create a writing prompt. In case it’s blocked, go to Google Trends and have kids use the Top 10 list as an idea for the writing prompt. A good game to play is to have them try and use as many as possible in one paragraph. Tom has other great ideas on his site if you can get to it.
- Dan at Dy/Dan talks about classroom management. Since it might be blocked for you, he talks about grabbing your students attention, and then pausing to make sure they’re with you, and then getting straight to the point. No filler.
- From Cool Cat at Cool Cat Teacher: A list of the top Web 2.0 tools teachers are using. Interestingly enough, the top 2 are voicethread and wikispaces, two tools I’m desperately trying to get teachers to use at HHS.
