December is Communicator month!

Grade 9: We will continue investigating how culture informs identity. Last week, we saw this power point: What is culture and how does it inform

     11/29: Activity: “Who am I?” Who Am I_Culture Activity. This will be due to your Language B teacher by 12/ 2. Students will also receive “The Mother Tongue” to read as well as a prompt by which to respond to their reading. This prompt is due in seminar 12/13.      12/6: Language and Identity: Language and Identity; Collect Amy Tan reflection essays

     12/13: Language of Tolerance: Take a Risk to Take a Stand

Grade 10: We will continue to have presentations, discuss the Personal Project and finally on 12/14, collect the Personal Project. The PP Checklist is here: Personal Project Final Checklist. Grade 11: We will watch the documentary,”The Story of the Wild Child,” about a feral child and her delayed language acquisition. This documentary is complementary to TOK study of language as a way of knowing. The worksheet is here, IB Junior Seminar_secret of the wild child. It is due in TOK on the day designated by your TOK teacher, but no later than 12/16.

Grade 12: We will finish “Promises” and discuss what we have seen in terms of how communication is key to this problem. The worksheeet is due to TOK by 12/15. Promises wksht

VERY IMPORTANT DEADLINE FOR SENIORS!!!

Attention SENIORS: 

All transcripts needed for college applications and scholarships before the December 1st deadline must be requested by this Friday, November 18th.  Any requests for the December 1st deadline may not be satisfied if they are not submitted by this Friday. See Mrs. Terry before it is too late.

Remember! You Submit Application, Supplement, & Payment Separately  using the Common App  

The application, supplement, and payment submissions are three distinct processes.  Despite instructions and reminders, some students mistakenly believe that the application automatically follows a supplement and/or payment.  Please remind your students to confirm the status of submissions within My Colleges.
