Ms. Bradford came across this website, http://www.challengesuccess.org/, and it seemed to be tailor-made for our students. I don’t know about the organization, but the advice and resources should be useful to anyone who comes in contact with students like ours who are engaged in high stakes learning.

Theory of Knowledge is the capstone course for the Diploma Program. Its purpose is to lead students into a metacognitive understanding of their own learning specifically and knowledge in general. Next year’s juniors, however, will take it for two years, as IBO has mandated. We see this as an exciting change!

Senior “Revision” Weekends

Posted by Mrs. Biddle in Program News for Parents
at 9:43 am on Friday, 7 November 2008

Seniors will be given their TOK essays on 11/7 and their World Lit 1 essays on 11/21 to revise. Parents, please see that your child has time those weekends to devote to these revisions. The TOK essay, along with the Extended Essay, can add extra points toward the diploma, compensating for any lower scores in their SL exams! It is a good strategy to have those points “in the bank”! The links are the explanations of both essays as well as the rubrics for judging their quality.
