Honor in Leadership and Leadership with Honor
at 8:29 am on Wednesday, 27 February 2013
The LES (Leadership and Ethics Society) is working to build a partnership between Sportable (an organization that works with physically disabled athletes in our community) and the Henrico High School Honor Societies along with the other community service clubs. However, the only prerequisite to volunteering with them is a mandatory one hour volunteer training session. To simplify the logistics, they will be hosting a training session at Henrico High School next Tuesday, March 5th immediately following school in the South Cafeteria (4:00-5:00). Our aim is to get all of the service clubs involved, so this is the best opportunity for everyone to receive certification! This information will be communicated through club presidents and sponsors, but do you mind including it on your blog and in an e-mail to the IB family? In the case of underclassmen, we are trying to emphasize that prior experience with Sportable will look impressive on honor society applications in the future!
Sportable’s seasonal premier event is the “Richmond on Wheels” wheelchair basketball tournament at the University of Richmond on March 9th and 10th. They need tons of help and are looking forward to seeing HHS show out in numbers! The sign-up link is:
